Fashion Design-4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10
Thursdays 4-5:00 Ages: 7-13
5 sessions
Junior Designers will be immersed in a full fashion experience. Students will be creating a full look over the course of 5 classes. Designers will work on color pallets, jewelry, create, cut, & sew a pattern, manipulate textiles, and embellish. Mary Ellen will guide each designer as they create a one of a kind curated collection for their runway show on the last day of class.
About the instructor Mary Ellen McAteer:
Mary Ellen is a 3rd generation fashion designer and entrepreneur. Her experience in fashion world is vast. She’s been designing swimwear collections along side her father since birth, but most notably she’s designed handbag collections for Bloomingdales, rebranded and designed an entire swim & resort collection featured on TV, launched factories in the Dominican Republic, and now runs her own design consulting business.
Mary Ellen is not only our Fashion Design guru and the mastermind behind our beloved sensory tables, she’s also our in-house photographer! Mary Ellen has been teaching [or should we say grooming] her daughter to hopefully become the family’s 4th generation designer and she is very excited to share her gift with your Junior Designer!
